Assistant Scientific Project Manager

Location: Calverton Office

IMS supports multiple bioinformatics initiatives from government and commercial institutions in public health and medical research applications. IMS is looking for an Assistant Scientific Project Manager to join our cross-disciplinary team of programming and biomedical staff and perform a variety of tasks to support the Project Manager for his/her assigned project. In this position, you will coordinate with clients and the IMS team to ensure the timely implementation of products and services to meet client requirements, within company policies and procedures. Additional tasks include communicating with clients on project status, determining task schedules, and tracking budget items and other metrics. Tasks may also include participating in scientific meetings and conference calls, developing documentation and training materials, coordinating the resolution of client technical issues, and other related project management tasks. Please note this is NOT a laboratory position.
 

Requirements


  • PhD degree from a U.S. Department of Education accredited institution in Biological Sciences or a related biomedical field
  • 3-6 years of related project management or clinical data professional experience
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office
  • Demonstrated strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to relay biomedical and other technical information to clients and internal staff in layman terms
  • Demonstrated strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Demonstrated customer service skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and organization skills
  • Must be able to multi-task, meet deadlines, and work within a team
  • Knowledge of cancer biology preferred
  • Strong presentation skills preferred
