Systems Administrator (Entry-Level)

Location: Calverton Office

IMS supports multiple bioinformatics initiatives from government and commercial institutions in public health and medical research applications. IMS is looking for an entry-level Systems Administrator to provide hands-on technical support to over 200 tech-savvy users on a wide variety of industry standard applications. You will assist with the maintenance of Windows desktops as well as work with the systems team to solve complex and challenging technical issues. Tasks include installing and maintaining Windows-based software and operating systems, as well as supporting connectivity of devices to the network and performing routine network administration duties.
 

Requirements


  • Bachelor’s degree from a U.S. Department of Education accredited institution or Associate’s degree with equivalent experience
  • Minimum of 2.9 GPA
  • 0-2 years of related professional experience
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Windows desktop operating systems
  • Familiarity with Microsoft System Center a plus
  • Demonstrated strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to relay technical information to users in layman terms
  • Demonstrated strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Demonstrated customer service skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and organization skills
  • Must be able to multi-task, meet deadlines, and work within a team
  • Strong presentation skills preferred
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Level 5 Public Trust security clearance
